His Grace is Sufficient for YOU

Yes, even in this season!

As Christian leaders, it is plainly clear- we cannot please everyone. We may not even be able to please anyone! People in our ministries are not short on opinions!

Too many programs ------------------------ Not enough programs

Too many new songs ---------------------- Too many old songs

Too much time praying -------------------- Not enough time praying

Too many ordinances ---------------------- Not enough ordinances

Too charismatic ------------------------------ Not charismatic enough

Sermon is too long -------------------------- Sermon is not in depth enough

And the list goes on.

Somewhere between the push and pull, we can lose who we are in Christ. Between making the multitudes of decisions and desiring to show the ever-present love of God to each individual in our purview, our time with the Lord easily becomes dominated by the ministry needs around us.

Somewhere between the push & pull

we stop interacting with Him

as a child of the King of Kings,

and start approaching Him

like our Executive Boss.

We bring Him our tasks, to-do lists, and petitions (which are important to bring to Him), but we stop bringing our own heart, soul, and mind.

GOOD NEWS!!

You can start fresh (again) RIGHT NOW!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.
— Matthew 18:3

I want to invite you to

take a moment, right now, to just be a child of God.

Not someone’s pastor, not interceding for any person or ministry, just being His beloved son or daughter in His presence. It doesn’t take long, less than 5 minutes. Set a timer, and let yourself be.

You might drift off to the usual mental items, but when you notice it, just refocus. No shame. No guilt. Just practice sitting in His presence and remember the beauty of Psalm 16:11-

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
— Psalm 16:11

When was the last time you felt the “fullness of joy”?

Maybe it’s time to schedule a session.
